For the 1st Time Ever Disney World is Letting Adults Dress Up for Halloween

September 03, 2020

The Spooky season has always been popular at Disney and this year it gets even better.  Adults can now dress up as their favorite character by wearing full costumes around the parks during regular business hours.  The after-hours Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party isn’t happening but this gives adults and kids a reason to cheer.

For a number of reasons, adults have not been able to wear full costumes to the parks.  You don’t want a kid mistaking an adult in a Cinderella costume for the real deal!  Some rules still apply, like no full masks for adults, only children under the age of 14 can wear mask.

In addition to allowing costumes the parks will be celebrating this year with fall decorations and other great surprises like a Halloween-themed cavalcade with Mickey Mouse and his pals.

From Disney Parks Blog:

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 31 you are sure to “fall” in love with Magic Kingdom Park all over again. You’ll soak in the aura of autumn with Main Street, U.S.A. dressed in fall décor and other seasonal offerings.

All guests are required to wear approved face coverings during their visit. Before you arrive, check our Know Before You Go page and Costume Guidelines.

As you can see in these new photos, our cast members are prepping pumpkin-themed wreaths that will adorn lampposts up and down Main Street, U.S.A., putting you in the fall spirit almost as soon as you step foot inside the park.

Autumn at Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be complete without our popular fall treats, such as the famous Pumpkin-spiced Waffle Sundae at Magic Kingdom Park. Visit our official Foodie Guide to Fall Treats at Walt Disney World: Parks Edition, which features all of the yummy details.
