DVC Raises Minimum Point Requirement for Perks to 125

October 22, 2020

Disney Vacation Club has raised the minimum point purchase to 125 for new buyers who want to be eligible for membership perks and extras.  In a few short years the points have rapidly climbed from the minimum requirement of just 25 points.  In 2018, the minimum was raised to 75 points and in 2019 was once again increased to 100.

What’s affected?  Dining discounts, shopping discounts, Moonlight Magic After Hours, DVC member lounge access at EPCOT, special events and more.  Remember this point increase only applies to new members and those who did not already meet the previous requirement at the time of their purchase.

The Disney Vacation Club website now states:

Effective October 19, 2020, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 125 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.

It’s expected all current DVC blue member cardholders will be grandfathered into this increase, similar to how it’s been handled during past increases.  However, Disney does reserve the right to change these extras and who qualifies for them at anytime.
