Walt Disney World has confirmed the operational schedule for its water parks, setting a firm reopening date for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and a matching closure date for Disney’s Blizzard Beach.

Typhoon Lagoon will officially reopen to guests on January 27, 2027, ending a seasonal closure that began on September 9, 2026. On the exact same day, January 27, 2027, Disney’s Blizzard Beach will temporarily close for its own annual refurbishment.

Following its usual practice of maintaining a single open water park during the cooler months, Disney will ensure there is no gap in availability. Blizzard Beach is currently welcoming guests as the resort’s sole operating water park option. Visitors planning a trip before January 27, 2027, will find Blizzard Beach open and Typhoon Lagoon closed, while guests arriving on or after that date will experience Typhoon Lagoon while Blizzard Beach undergoes refurbishment. Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for Blizzard Beach.

When Typhoon Lagoon welcomes guests back, it will restore access to its tropical setting and signature attractions, including the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Miss Adventure Falls, Castaway Creek, Humunga Kowabunga, and the Storm Slides centered around Mount Mayday.

Guests planning visits around the winter season can utilize the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass, which is currently available for purchase at $89 plus tax for ages 10 and older and $83 plus tax for ages 3 to 9. The pass is valid for visits through May 15, 2027, with blockout dates from February 19 through February 21 and March 20 through March 28, 2027. Passholders can enjoy access to whichever water park is open during the pass window, alongside extra benefits including one round of miniature golf before 4 p.m. at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways or Winter Summerland, and 20% off same-day rentals of Beachcomber Shacks and Polar Patios booked in person at the park.

Looking ahead to warmer months, Disney has confirmed that the free water park perk for resort hotel guests will return for the summer of 2027, though the perk will exclude guests staying at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. While both water parks operated simultaneously during the summer seasons of 2025 and 2026, Disney has not yet confirmed whether both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will operate side by side again for the entirety of summer 2027. Visitors should check Disney’s official operating calendar closer to their travel dates, as cooler Central Florida weather and cold fronts can occasionally trigger unexpected hours adjustments or temporary weather closures.
