Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland PeopleMover Refurbishment Extended Another Week Through November 28

September 16, 2020

As one of my top 5 rides it’s tough to visit Magic Kingdom and not hop on the PeopleMover at least once during our visit.  The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom as been closed since before Covid-19 shutdown the park.  When the Magic Kingdom reopened to guests in July fans of the favorite attractions were disappointed to find it still closed.  According to a report by Blog Mickey the PeopleMover is receiving a full replacement of all the magnetic linear induction motors along the 5400′ of track.

Prior to its closer the attraction began having serious issues leading to significant downtown.  Originally planned to reopen on November 1, it now appears the ride will open much later in the month on November 28.  Disney recently updated their park hours through November 28 and continues to list the ride as “Closed for Refurbishment”.  When park hours for November 29 and later come out it’s possible the PeopleMover may still be on the list.  We’ll just have to wait and see.
