Magic Kingdom Reopening Target Set for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Following Autumn Maintenance

Walt Disney World Resort has updated its calendar with a scheduled reopening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. The popular water ride is set to close for a routine refurbishment on Monday, November 2, 2026, marking its first extended maintenance period since opening on June 28, 2024.
According to the updated Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, the attraction is expected to reopen on Friday, December 18, 2026. This six-and-a-half-week shutdown means the ride will remain closed through Thanksgiving week, but it is slated to return just one week before Christmas Day.
When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closes on November 2, the nearby Tiana’s Bayou General merchandise location will also close. However, the Critter Co-Op will remain open during the refurbishment to offer similar souvenirs and merchandise.
Since opening in Frontierland as a replacement for Splash Mountain, the attraction has welcomed guests with a storyline inspired by The Princess and the Frog, featuring a 50-foot drop and numerous Audio-Animatronics figures. While Disney describes the upcoming closure as routine maintenance, the ride has experienced ongoing operational issues and animatronics problems since its debut. The extended downtime provides an opportunity for crews to address general ride system upkeep and theatrical elements ahead of the busy holiday season.

Because operating hours and schedules remain subject to change, guests planning visits to Magic Kingdom during November and early December should check the official Disney World calendar and the My Disney Experience app for the most current operating information.
