EPCOT Plans One-Day September Takeover and Specialty Drink for Cosmic Rewind

EPCOT guests visiting Walt Disney World later this month can experience a special one-day soundtrack takeover at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. On September 21, the popular thrill ride will drop its usual randomized playlist of six classic pop songs and play Earth, Wind & Fire’s iconic track “September” on a constant loop all day long.

The annual tradition leans directly into the famous opening lyric of the song, which asks listeners to remember the 21st night of September. While the attraction normally shuffles between multiple tracks so riders never know which song they will get until launch, the September 21 takeover guarantees the single anthem for every ride cycle throughout the entire day.

Walt Disney World has expanded the celebration for this year by introducing a brand-new, limited-time beverage available exclusively on September 21. The Supernova Sip will be served at Connections Café and Eatery, located in the World Celebration neighborhood right across from the attraction. The specialty drink features a mixture of spicy hot honey syrup, lemon juice, and edible glitter, finished with an orange cotton candy topping. Adult guests who prefer an alcoholic option can also order a spirited version made with Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Like the song takeover, the beverage will only be available on September 21.

Guests visiting the park for the unofficial holiday can also look for additional offerings around World Discovery. Star-Lord will be holding character meet and greets near the attraction’s jump ship, with exact appearance times listed on the My Disney Experience app. Visitors looking to pick up souvenirs can stop by Treasures of Xandar, the trading post located near the ride exit.

Travelers planning a trip to experience the one-day event can take advantage of current Walt Disney World vacation offers. The 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket starts at $109 per day plus tax and provides admission to each of the four theme parks, valid for visits most days through October 3, 2026. Additionally, guests can save up to 30 percent on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for stays of five nights or longer with arrivals through October 3, 2026, alongside other savings available for shorter stays.
